The leading fuel cell company PowerCell Sweden AB launched the latest fuel cell stack platform, PowerCell S2, at the Hannover Fair in April this year, which gained great interest from the industry. This has now led to the company receiving its first order for the PowerCell S2 platform from France. A French company has ordered one fuel cell stacks of the PowerCell S2 platform of 25 kW. The fuel cell stacks will be delivered in Q1.
"The France automotive market is important for PowerCell and we are happy to announce that a first order of our latest fuel cell stack platform has been placed by a company in France", said Andreas Bodén, Director of Marketing and Sales at PowerCell Sweden AB.
The PowerCell S2 platform complements the company's first generation fuel cell stack, the PowerCell S1 (1-5 kW), as it covers a larger power range from 5 kW up to 25 kW, still with the same tolerance towards CO and reformate gas as PowerCell S1. Another feature is the capability for extensive starts and stops. This feature means that battery buffers can be kept to a minimum. PowerCell S2 fuel cell stack platform is; efficient, unique, patented and designed for low-pressure drop.
PowerCell has developed fuel cell technologies for more than a decade, and has perfected a unique design that enables the production of a light, versatile and reliable source of power for automotive, transportation and stationary applications. PowerCell's S2 fuel cell stack can run on pure hydrogen, but also be part of a fuel cell system, 'PowerPac', which converts diesel into electricity in an energy efficient and environmentally friendly manner, with minimal exhaust emissions and quiet operations.
About PowerCell Sweden AB (publ)
PowerCell Sweden AB (publ) is the leading fuel cell company in the Nordics, which develops and produces environmentally friendly power systems for stationary and mobile customer applications.
PowerCell has developed a modular system of fuel cell platforms, powered by clean environmentally friendly produced hydrogen where only electricity, heat and water are emissions. The fuel cells are also designed to handle the reformed hydrogen from e.g. biogas, natural gas, biodiesel or standard diesel.
In case hydrogen infrastructure is missing, PowerCell has combined its leading fuel cell and reformer technology and developed a fuel cell system, PowerPac, which converts standard diesel, with hydrogen, into electricity. This is done in an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly way, in which emissions of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and particles are completely eliminated and the carbon dioxide is greatly reduced compared with a conventional diesel engine.
PowerCell Sweden AB (publ) is listed on First North at Nasdaq Stockholm and is an industrial spinout from the Volvo Group. Among the largest owners are Midroc New Technology, Fouriertransform, Finindus and Volvo Group Venture Capital. For additional information, please visit: www.powercell.se
